BEHIND EVERYTHING

BEHIND EVERYTHING

BEHIND EVERYTHING

Behind the rich faces,

Are devils with two legs

With the act of darkness

But covered with innocence

Behind the wall of religion,

Are men and women with sins

With the act of murder and rape

But covered with the name of God

Behind a very good job for the lady

There is a manager with no shame

Taking away her dignity for the job

Not knowing how to live with it.

Behind the beautiful girl,

Living greatly with the step father,

Are sleepless nights as the father

Forces himself on her and shuts her up

Behind the smiles of a house wife

Is the brutal husband

Being hurt by him

Because she has nowhere to go

Behind the hatred from her own mother,

Is a horrible past she never forgets

She was raped and got pregnant

And he is the product and the victim

Behind the mad man walking around

Is a bad behaviour he engaged himself into

Trying to take away problems

He took away everything that makes a human

Behind the monster you see

Is the unexpected truth

That everyone walked away

When he needed them the most

Behind the death of albino’s

Is the untold story

Of the one who wants them dead

For no reason

Behind the degree he has

Without any knowledge

Is someone so hardworking

Only that he forged it

DEADLY SILENT BATTLES

DEADLY SILENT BATTLES

DEADLY SILENT BATTLES

We all have battles,

Silent like the calm sea

But to the grave loudly send us.

We walk with smiles wide,

Beneath lies heart piercing sorrow.

A great battle we can't easily share.

The world has become this

Giant beauty parlour, with make up

We make up a fake life to hide the spots we feel.

Perhaps, the only option left for us.

For if we come out,

A front page meme we become.

The walls are closing in.

The demons have awaken

We see no way out.

Drowning in depression and stress

Suicidal thoughts keeping us company.

The silent war in the mind never ending.

The world seem to be ending.

The fire in the head can't be

Quenched like the Door to Hell.

I look left and right

The world is impotent of care,

Pregnant with negativity and selfishness.

People more concerned with how

Much following they have than

Following the one falling deep in aloneness.

You may be drowning.

You may be choking at own blood.

You may feel a rope around your neck as only way out.

"Be still, stop worrying for minute

And know that I am who I am

I will fight for you, if you let me."

Such is His promise

Trust your worries to Him above.

Give up not, even unseen battles can be won.

VERSE1

From lands far and near

We congregate under the tree, IAWA

Uniting in words and songs

Rewriting Mama Africa's narratives

Made sacred and praised, archived from ancestral barns of wisdom

VERSE 2

Fish play hide and seek with fisherman

While crocodiles watch closely

In the Mighty rivers of Africa

In the thick forest legendary melodious echo

The light mirrors the beauty of its scars

Telling of life lived and life to come

High up the Kilimanjaro we stand

Looking at Africa's future

We see a continent full of hope

The erection of United States of Africa

Bringing the diaspora home

The land of honey and milk, not milk and honey

Yes, we do things differently here

CHORUS

IAWA changing the narrative

Let Mama Africa rise

Uniting in words and in song

IAWA changing the narrative

Let Mama Africa shine

Telling the tales of our land
